History

Parkdale Montessori School’s journey began on January 2007 in the basement of a local church when we opened a small Casa classroom and welcomed 4 full-day students.  Our little family quickly grew and for the 2007-2008 school year, we were proud to announce that we had expanded to two Casa classrooms and over 45 children enrolled.

As our specialized bilingual immersion educational program, nurturing environment, and positive atmosphere grew in popularity, our enrolment outgrew our facility at the church. There was a need to relocate to a larger and more permanent location. Thus, in April, 2008, we purchased a new home for our school and the children themselves and moved in October.  The new location is a large residential home, within steps of Reid Park, which has been totally re-designed and to which a large extension has been added.  As well, we are utilizing the hall of our wonderful neighbour: St. Matthias Anglican Church, for special events and exercise periods when needed.  We have also expanded both in number of students and range of programs.  Parkdale Montessori now has more than 90 students, with programs ranging from toddlers to junior elementary, and our school includes many supportive and committed parents!

Our new facility is an ideal environment for your child to reach his or her fullest potential, develop a love for learning and a joy for life!
