Our Staff

Parkdale Montessori School is a non-denominational, private school, registered under the Ontario Day Nurseries Act, and licensed and governed by the Ministry of Education.  

Sandrine Flight and her husband Claude Flight are the two founders, owners and full-time employees of Parkdale Montessori School.  They are respectively School Director and Administrator.  They currently lead a team of 20 people, who are professionally Montessori-trained head teachers, assistants and devoted support staff.

School Director 

Sandrine Flight B.A., M.Ed., AMI.  Sandrine was born in Belgium and spent her childhood in both Belgium and France.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, and Film Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa.  She received her AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) diploma at the primary/casa level from the Foundation for Montessori Education, Toronto.  She also holds a Master's Degree in Education (Montessori concentration) from Loyola University, Maryland.  Sandrine has been working in Montessori for the past 12 years in schools in Toronto and Ottawa.  She is a member of the Association Montessori Internationale and the Montessori Society of Canada.

School Administrator

Claude Flight, B.A., B.Sc., M.A., PMP . Claude spent his working career in Project Management and Marketing for 25 years.  His undergraduate degrees and Masters of Arts are from  Memorial University of Newfoundland, while his Master's in Project Management is from George Washington University and Université du Québec .  He also holds a Certificate in Criminology.  Claude is responsible for all school administration, finance and marketing.    

School Coordinator

Ms. Camy, MEY certificate.  Camy was born in Vietnam and grew up in Montreal.  She is trilingual (French, English and Vietnamese).  A few years ago, Camy became interested in the Montessori philosophy and decided to pursue a career in this fascinating educational environment.  She obtained a Montessori Early Years certificate in Ottawa.  Camy worked in the Toddler, Casa, and Junior Elementary programs before taking on new challenges as School Coordinator.

School Supervisor / Casa Head Teacher

Ms. Danielle, B.A., AMI.  Danielle is originally from New Brunswick and graduated from the Université de Moncton with a Bachelor in Fine Arts Education in 1995.  After a few years teaching in the public school system, she moved to Vancouver to obtain her AMI diploma at the Casa (preschool) level and her ECE certificate at the Montessori Training Center of British Columbia in 2001.  She has worked as a head teacher in Vancouver and in the Ottawa area ever since.  Danielle is an active member in both the Association Montessori International and the Montessori Society of Canada, participating in local, national and international refresher courses, workshops and conferences. 

Casa Head Teacher

Ms. Sara , BA, AMI grew up in a small rural town in southern Ontario.  She went to McMaster University in Hamilton where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.  During university she began working within the social service sector and gained invaluable experience working with children and youth in group homes and foster care.  Sara worked abroad in an orphanage in Brazil which inspired her to work with younger children.  She did her Montessori training (casa training) at the Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto.  Sara moved to Calgary directly after training where she worked for several years. In 2008, she moved with her family to Ottawa where she has pursued her career with Parkdale Montessori.

Casa Head Teacher

Ms. Véronique, Baccalauréat Suisse, Maturité Fédérale (Switzerland), St.Nicholas Montessori College. Véronique was born and raised in Switzerland.  Véronique has had the wonderful opportunity to be a Montessori child herself since being the daughter of a Montessori teacher / school owner and attending a Montessori school as a child.   She moved to British Columbia, where she did her Montessori training (casa level), with St. Nicholas Montessori College.  She has been teaching the casa level since 1991.  In 2004, she moved with her family to Ottawa, where she taught the casa level in a francophone class.  Véronique is currently studying for her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a B.C. university, as well as taking psychology courses through the University of Ottawa.

Toddler Head Teacher

Ms. Bridget, BA, ECE, NAMC grew up in a small town outside of Ottawa. Bridget has been working with children for the past 9 years in different environments as a Daycare Coordinator, Kindergarten Teacher, Montessori Assistant and currently Montessori Head Teacher.  She received her Early Childhood Diploma from Loyalist College, and later went to Trent University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  A few years later, Bridget received a certificate in Behavioural Autism from Alconquin College.  Bridget completed her Montessori training at the toddler level and has taught in Montessori schools in Ottawa ever since. 

Elementary Head Teacher

Ms. Jessica, B.A., NAMC (certifications in casa and elementary), diploma in Social Work, was born and raised in Ontario. Jessica graduated from Ottawa University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She then went on to graduate with Honours in the Development Services Worker program at Algonquin College before deciding to pursue her casa Montessori training and later elementary training.  Jessica has been working in the educational field for the past 10 years (including extensive work with children with special needs). 

Elementary Head Teacher

Ms. Claudine, NAMC (certification in elementary).  Claudine holds un Diplôme d'Etudes Collégiales en Education des Petits from Algonquin College, Ottawa. Claudine worked in a Montessori casa environment before deciding to take her Montessori training at the elementary level.  Claudine has taught in elementary ever since and has helped implementing a French immersion program at that level.  After working for more than 14 years in the educational field, Claudinestill has a real passion and enthusiasm for children's' education.
